"Yes sir," Peterson said. "I am looking forward to some time at home over the holidays. A little time away from the classroom is always nice."
Peterson has seen his stock steadily rise over the past couple of months. Just in the last week or so he picked up offers from two of the top programs in the nation.
This past weekend Peterson went to College Station for a visit. He said one of the things that he liked on the visit were the people. "I took a visit to Texas A&M last weekend. The visit was OK. I really liked the people there on the visit. Everyone was really friendly."
Peterson has two other official visits set up for the month of January. After that he is looking to take just one more trip and he has that last trip narrowed down to just three possibilities.
"I really just want to take on more visit. I am looking at Michigan, Nebraska and Tennessee for that last spot. I will decide soon between the three schools."
There are some things that Peterson is looking for when it comes to picking out a school. The first is that the school is looking at him to play offense. Second is feeling comfortable with what is going on at the school and with its surroundings.
"I am also interested in the surroundings. I mean, I want to be comfortable there because I will be playing there for the next four to five years. Distance isn't a problem."
Peterson had a solid year last year, averaged 27.5 yards per reception and almost averaged a touchdown every other catch, but is widely considered to be one of the top blocking tight ends in the nation.
"I had eight receptions for 220 yards and three touchdowns. I think that I am one of the best blocking tight ends in the country. I can also catch the football. I am the complete package."
The Husker offer came in late, but that doesn't hurt Nebraska's chances. Peterson said that he doesn't know a lot about Nebraska, but he's definitely interested in them and getting to know his position coach Ron Brown better.
"I don't really know too much about them. I am interested in them though. That's why I am considering them for my final visit and I would like to find out more about them."
