Junior center Andre Almeida was honored Monday, as he was chosen as the Phillips 66 Co-Rookie of the Week for games of February 14-20 in voting by a panel of media covering the Conference

Andre Almeida averaged 6.0 points on 85 percent shooting, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game in helping Nebraska to a 2-0 record, including a win over No. 3 Texas on Saturday. He keyed Nebraska's win over No. 2 Texas with 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting, five rebounds and two blocks in 15 minutes off the bench. Almeida had six points and three rebounds in a 14-5 spurt to open the second half, as Nebraska erased a seven-point halftime deficit. Almeida is the first Husker honored by the league this season.

Almeida shared the honor with Iowa State's Jake Anderson, while Kansas State's Jacob Pullen was named Big 12 Player of the Week.

The Huskers are in action Wednesday evening, as Nebraska takes on Kansas State at 8:05 p.m.
