According to Big Red Reports sources, former MLB All-Star and Nebraska All-American Darin Erstad will be hired as the next Nebraska head baseball coach.
Serving as a volunteer coach on the Nebraska staff this past season, Erstad was in charge of hitting. There .269 average was good for just 8th in the Big 12 overall, down from .301 in 2010.
The former No. 1 pick in the 1995 Major League Baseball Draft, Erstad played 14 seasons in the big leagues, making two All-Star teams and batting .282 lifetime.
