Nebraska native Logan Ehlers has decided to walk away from the Nebraska baseball program.
“We wish Logan nothing but the best of luck in the future,” Erstad said. “We will continue to support him in any way we can.”
In a interesting freshman season, Ehlers went 1-3 with a 4.30 ERA in 29.1 innings.
After passing up an offer from the Toronto Blue Jays last summer to head to Nebraska, the freshman was suspended over 30 games by the NCAA. Cleared to play in April, it took only three appearances before he was the regular Friday night starter.
Ehlers hurt his shoulder late in the season against Missouri, but pitched through pain at the end of the year. He did not participate in summer league to rehab the shoulder.
In his last two seasons at Nebraska City, Ehlers went 18-2 with an era below 0.30.
