"Our season is over," Gray said. "We are done because they ruled some players ineligible. There were three players that were ruled ineligible, but our coach didn't know anything about it.
"We were 9-1 with those ineligible players, but after they took those games back we finished 2-8. I finished the season with one interception and 24 tackles."
Gray just re-opened the recruiting process after decommitting from Kansas a week or so ago. Suddenly though he committed to Tennessee, but his commitment is anything but firm with him planning on visiting three other schools.
"The process has been going on and I have really started to trust the coaches. I am still going to make other visits though. I will visit West Virginia, Texas Tech and Nebraska. Tennessee is fine with me taking additional trips."
The Nebraska staff and Gray have been in contact with one another since Gray committed to Tennessee. Gray explained that he is still wants to see Nebraska and the Husker staff is looking forward to hosting him.
"I spoke to Nebraska since I committed. I spoke with Coach Corey Raymond. He said that he respected what I was doing and that he wants me to come up on a visit to Nebraska and see how things are."
Gray will leave early in the morning on the Friday after Thanksgiving to go to Nebraska for the game against Iowa. Gray says that there are a few things on his visit to Lincoln that he is looking forward to seeing.
"I am set to go up there the weekend of Thanksgiving. I will leave that Friday morning around 6:00. I want to see how the town is, see the campus, see the facilities and get some time with the head coach."
Nebraska could hold an edge with Gray when it comes to ultimately securing a commitment from him. Gray has expressed an interest to play early in his collegiate career and Nebraska is in need of some speed at cornerback.
"Early playing time is big with my decision. I spoke to Nebraska about that and they are trying to get me to come in and play early possibly. That looks good for Nebraska. I watched them this past weekend."
