After just one year as a member of the Nebraska volleyball team, outside hitter Taylor Simpson has decided to transfer to Kansas State University.
"Taylor Simpson informed us over break that she would like to pursue another option and has made the decision to no longer be a part of the Nebraska volleyball program," said Nebraska head coach John Cook. Cook also added, "We have released her from her letter of intent in order for her to pursue another program and receive aid immediately. We wish Taylor nothing but the best of luck in the future as she will be missed as a member of the Nebraska volleyball team."
It is unclear of the main reason why Simpson is leaving the program, but playing time was thought to be a factor.
Not many chances were given to the freshman as she tried to make playing time behind All-American Gina Mancuso and All Big Ten performer Hannah Werth. Both players return to the team and the Huskers will welcome top 50 prep product Alexa Strange to the mix.
Before choosing Nebraska, Kansas State was in Simpson's top three.
