Chaminade high school (MO) linebacker Brandon Minor wanted to attend Nebraska's junior day this weekend after being invited, but can't make it due to a prior engagement (combine). While a later visit is likely, Minor has already been to Lincoln once.
"I was there for Iowa weekend," said Minor. "The fans were great and the sellout is loud. The fans love their recruits and are screaming for you to come there, so that is really cool. I love watching Nebraska's defense, so I enjoyed my time there.
"They had very modern displays and lounges which looked cool. They had an impressive weight program that they showed before and after results of and nice facilities because of the generous donations from Ndamukong Suh and Larry the Cable Guy."
Minor has received letters and junior day invites from Kansas State, Missouri, Northern Illinois, Ball State, LSU, Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin. A 6-foot-2, 235 pound prospect, Minors shows good speed when attacking running backs on his highlight tape.
"I have the speed to get sideline to sideline. I do a pretty good job with my form tackling," said the junior when asked to describe his game. He also plays running back. "I don't have a lot of tackles in the backfield, but I'm aggressive to the point of the attack.
"Teams are recruiting me as a linebacker. Defense is my thing. I have played linebacker ever since I was a little kid. When I play running back, it's just really because I'm needed at the position."
Minor plans to check out Missouri's junior day and got invited to LSU's, but the invite didn't get to the linebacker until two days before the Tigers weekend. He also plans to hit up Northern Illinois' in April.
