Omaha Burke running back Jordan Nelson is the first ever winner of the Johnny Rodgers Nebraska High School Offensive Player of the Year Award.

Omaha Burke running back Jordan Nelson is the first ever winner of the Johnny Rodgers Nebraska High School Offensive Player of the Year Award.

Nelson set the school single-season rushing record with 1,791 yards and tacked on 13 touchdowns. He also caught 25 passes for 700 yards and eight touchdowns, while averaging 28.0 yards per reception.

Action 3 Sports Director Travis Morgan headed up a committee made up of sports writers and sports directors from around the state, including Big Red Report's Josh Harvey.

Nelson will be honored at the Rodgers Award Banquet on April 12th at Anthony's Steakhouse in Omaha.
