Junior college cornerback Mohammed Seisay made his first appearance on Saturday. Come inside to see…
Height/Weight: 6-foot-2, 200 pounds
High School: West Springfield (Va.)
2011 Review:Seisay is a highly regarded junior college transfer from Eastern Arizona Junior College, and has two years of eligibility remaining at Nebraska.
Last year Seisay recorded 22 tackles and six interceptions, including two that were returned for touchdowns.
Seisay played alongside four-star cornerback Trevell Dixon last season, who ended up signing with Alabama.
2012 Outlook:Seisay has been hard at work getting used to the Nebraska defense, but he believes he has a good shot at earning a starting spot on the Blackshirts defense this year.
"I know what kind of player I am, and I never want to stop learning," Seisay told Randy York of Huskers.com. "I think I can start this year."
With the departure of cornerback Alfonzo Dennard to the New England Patriots, the secondary is fairly young for the Huskers, and Seisay will be able to provide valuable experience and should be able to step right in and make an impact.
"Mo's come in and done a good job this spring. His strength is one of his strong points," Joseph told the Lincoln Journal Star in April.
"He has a good build. A lot of times you're in one-on-one situations out there, and a lot of teams have big wide receivers, so you want corners out there who won't get overpowered in one-on-one situations. Just the way he's put together helps him out there a lot."
How he ended up in Lincoln:Before his junior college career he played Division I ball at Memphis, but then went to play at Eastern Arizona in hopes of getting the chance to play in a better division.
While at Memphis, Seisay started all 12 games at cornerback in 2010 and received Conference USA All-Freshman honors, while recording 39 tackles, two interceptions and three pass break ups.
