Big Red Report breaks down five players who could contribute in year one for the Huskers.

Zaire Anderson- LB:
Anderson is a JUCO player from Riverside (Calif.) City College. He excelled in 2011, recording 95 tackles (19 for a loss), 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two pass breakups, and a fumble recovery in 2011. His performance throughout the year earned him JC Gridwire All-American and the National Division East Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors. After the departure of Lavonte David, Anderson could fill a need at the linebacker position.

Jordan Westerkamp- WR:
Westerkamp joins the Huskers after having one of the best careers an Illinois high school receiver has ever had. He became the state’s all-time leader in receptions (235), receiving yards (4,618) and receiving touchdowns (68). His outstanding career was capped by his performance during the state 5A state championship game where he recorded 12 catches for 353 yards and five touchdowns. Westerkamp is expected to provide Taylor Martinez with a reliable target, and could see action very early in his career after head coach Bo Pelini told him they didn’t bring him in so he could redshirt.

Seisay was with Nebraska in the spring
Mohammad Seisay- CB:
Seisay is a junior college transfer from Eastern Arizona Junior College where he was a stand out and became regarded as one of the top JUCO recruits of 2011. At the cornerback position he recorded 22 tackles and six interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. Before his days at Eastern Arizona, he gained some division one experience playing at Memphis for two years. He red shirted there in 2009, and then started all 12 games in the 2010 season. While at Memphis he recorded 39 tackles, two interceptions and three pass breakups. Those stats earned him Conference USA All-Freshman honors. With the departure of Alfonzo Dennard to the NFL, Seisay will help fill a void in the Blackshirts’ defensive backfield.

Imani Cross- RB:
Measuring in at 6-foot-1, 225 pounds, Cross provides Nebraska with a big powerful running back, which could be a great change of pace from the quick backs in Rex Burkhead and Ameer Abdullah. With his large size, he could have a big impact in the short yardage game for the Huskers. As a senior, Cross rushed for 1,698 yards and 24 touchdowns. With the departure of running back Aaron Green to TCU, Cross gives the Huskers one more option in the offensive backfield.

Michael Rose- LB:
Rose was the first player to commit to Nebraska’s 2012 recruiting class, and like Anderson, he comes in with the hopes of hoping to fill the void left with the departure of David to the NFL. As a senior, Rose recorded 104 tackles, including three sacks, a pair of interceptions, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. He was named as an All-American in 2011, and took part in the Under Armor All-American Bowl in Florida.
