Lincoln, NE - As a wide receiver, there is always a chance for Kenny Bell to have to deal with scrutiny. If Bell blows past his defender and is wide open down field to only drop a perfect pass, his name will creep up on message boards and radio shows the following week.
It comes with the territory.
But if the ball is slightly under-thrown by Nebraska starting quarterback Taylor Martinez, it’s safe to say the scrutiny he faces will be about five times what Bell receives.
It comes with the territory.
On Monday reporters asked Bell about the constant breakdown of Martinez’s mechanics and progression.
“I feel real sorry for the kid. I don’t know how he does it with the straight face that he does, because I would really struggle,” said Bell. “The kid’s a phenomenal athlete, people criticize him a little too much.”
It’s not all Bell had to say on the topic. Watch the video below for the full conversation.
