Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini is 43-18 at the University of Nebraska. Yet, many say he can't win the big game? BRR takes a look back at some of his more impressive wins over the years.

No matter what stat you throw out, Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini's seat is warmer than it was a year ago. Pelini is just 7-8 against BCS teams dating back to the Huskers last game in the Big 12 in 2010.

Is it time for Nebraska to go in another direction?

Some fans think so.

I'm under the impression that Pelini can get the job done in Lincoln, while also remembering it's not the 90s any longer.

With their 63-38 loss to Ohio State over the weekend, Nebraska is just 1-3 in primetime games over the last two years (Fresno State started at 6 p.m.). Some feel Nebraska can't win the big ones under Pelini.

So Big Red Report decided to take a look back at some of the bigger wins in Pelini's career.

As we list them here, we ask you to debate on the message boards.

Big Red Report's Top Five

Taylor Martinez against Oklahoma State (USPRESSWIRE)
1.) Oklahoma State (2010) - Coming off a 20-13 loss to Texas, the No. 14 Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-1), headed to Stillwater, Oklahoma to square off against No. 17 and undefeated Oklahoma State. In one of most exciting games points wise in the Pelini era, the Huskers wrecked the Cowboys' homecoming, winning 51-41. Freshman Taylor Martinez threw five touchdown passes and over 300 yards total. Oklahoma would finish 11-2 on the season, their only other loss to ranked arch-rival Oklahoma. Nebraska bounced back in a huge way on the road, making it our No. 1 win the Pelini era.

2.) Missouri (2010) - Just a week after being Oklahoma State on the road, the Huskers returned home to face a 7-0 Missouri team, who had climbed to No. 7 in the rankings after being No. 3 Oklahoma the previous week. Husker running back Roy Helu Jr. didn't get the message that the Tigers were hot. Helu had two touchdown runs over 66 yards in the 1st quarter, helping Nebraska jump out to a 24-0 lead going int the second. The Huskers would only score one more time in the game, but shut down future 1st round quarterback draft pick Blaine Gabbert, to secure a 31-17 win. With the win, Nebraska won the tiebreaker at the end of the year with Missouri (6-2), to head to the Big 12 Conference Championship game.

3.) Ohio State (2011) - Down 27-6 in the third quarter and facing the possibility of starting 0-2 in the Big Ten Conference, Nebraska pulled off their biggest comeback in school history, defeating the Buckeyes 34-27 in Lincoln last year. Many fans would rank this the No. 1 win in the Pelini era. So why don't we? Ohio State finished the year 6-6 and if OSU quarterback Braxton Miller doesn't go down with an ankle injury in the third quarter, Nebraska never wins the game.

4.) Michigan State (2003) - Filling in as interim-head coach after Nebraska fired Frank Solich, Pelini showed defensively what he could with some time to game plan. The Huskers only allowed a field goal in the 1st quarter and won 17-3 over Michigan State in the Alamo Bowl. Pelini's stock grew with Nebraska fans and many wanted him to be Solich's replacement. While it didn't happen, Pelini would return after the Bill Callahan era, putting Nebraska football back on the map. But think about this for a moment. If he had lost the 2003 Alamo Bowl, would he be the head coach at the University of Nebraska right now?

5.) Clemson (2008) - After a 5-7 season in 2007, Nebraska fans were excited for a trip to the Gator Bowl. In a matchup with a Clemson team that had won three straight, Nebraska used a 20 point third quarter to win a close game, 26-21. It would mark the end of the first year in the Bo Pelini era and gave many Husker fans warm fuzzies heading into the offseason.
