Lincoln, NE - Sometimes the bye week comes at the perfect time.
On Tuesday, after seeing his star running back come out against Ohio State with a knee injury, Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini said Rex Burkhead should be available for Northwestern next week.
"We’re not going to do a lot with him in practice this week. The injury wasn't bad," said Pelini on his Big Ten coaches teleconference. "We expect him to be full go for Northwestern."
The knee was the same knee that forced him to miss games against UCLA and Arkansas State with a strained MCL.
On the season, the senior has run 43 times for 392 yards - good for a 9.1 yards per carry average.
