IUPUI stuck with the Wolverines for 13 minutes, but GRIII and Trey Burke were way too much for Indiana-Purdue to handle.
IUPUI stuck with U-M early, trailing just 29-25 at the 7:30 mark. U-M shot 76.% and were 5-7 in tre's led by GRIII's 11 points and
Trey Burke
's 9 -- but IUPUI answered by shooting 5-10 in tre's.
Then U-M went on a 10-2 run behind a tre by GRIII and a dunk and a layin by
Jordan Morgan
to make it 36-27 at the 4 minute mark.
IUPUI played tough for the rest of the half until the final minute when Trey Burke hit a layin and got a steal- foul-2 free throws and U-M went into the lockerroom up 14, 45-31.
Glen Robinson led U-M in scoring for the half with 16, and Trey Burke added 13 points and 7 assists. U-M shot 65.2% and were 7-10 in three pointers.
U-M opened the 2nd half with a 7-2 run on a GRIII tre and layins by Burke and Morgan, but IUPUI answered with 7 straight to make it 52-39 at the 15:30 minute mark.
After the teams treaded 3 pointers, Hardaway hit a slam to make it 59-42 at the 13:30 mark.
The two teams traded baskets and it was 62-46 at the 11 minute mark. Then Morgan hit 2 baskets around a Stauskas tre as U-M extended the lead to 69-48 at the 9 minute mark.
U-M gradually extended the lead around a dunk by Horford and layins by Hardaway and Burke to lead 78-52 at the 4 minute mark.
U-M substituted and extended the lead from there, blowing IUPUI out 88-52.
Trey Burke led U-M with 22 points (and 9 assists). Glen Robinson added 21.
Tim Hardaway
had 10 points and 7 rebounds. U-M shot 60% and 61.9% (13-21) in tre's.
