Orlando (Flor.) Evans wide receiver Dominic Walker has seen the Nebraska staff twice now in three days, but technically over two weeks. Walker said that his recruiting coach was there to see him Thursday and the position coach was there last night.
“Yes sir Nebraska was here,” Walker said. “Coach Tim Beck was here on Thursday night for about an hour and a half. Coach Rich Fisher was here last night too.”
Walker is impressed that Nebraska has been out to see him so quickly the past two weeks. Walker also likes what he is hearing about the need for more wide receivers and the possibility of early playing time.
“It’s a good sign when you get two visits back to back like that. We just talked about the opportunity that is there for me to come in and play. I like the idea of playing early.”
This past weekend Walker was supposed to visit Cincinnati. That fell through when their head coach bolted for Tennessee. Walker has spoken with some of the remaining assistants at Cincinnati this past week.
“I didn’t take my official visit to Cincinnati this weekend,” Walker said. “I have talked to the coaches that are still at Cincinnati and they are asking me to just hang in there until everything gets sorted out.”
There are two teams for sure on Walker’s list and possibly a third. The third is a school that he is waiting to hear from since their coaching change. Walker says that the plan is still to come to a decision by the end of this month.
“I would say that I am still considering Cincinnati, Nebraska and maybe Tennessee. I haven’t heard from them since their coaching change. I am planning on making my decision on December 30th.”
