Scheduled to make an official visit to UCLA Jan. 25, it was last week that Adeboyejo cancelled and instead penciled in Ole Miss upon receiving an offer from the Rebels.
"I like those coaches a lot. I haven't even visited and I already just have a good feeling about it. And playing in the SEC is a big plus," he told us Monday. "Coach Freeze called me today. That was the first time a head coach called me personally. He said he really wants me to be a part of it."
The 6-foot-3, 175-pounder reiterated the same thoughts today, following his return from Lubbock.
"Ready for Ole Miss… Talking to Coach Freeze and Coach McGriff over the phone after they offered me really stood out. I can already tell that they are great people and coaches. And you can't beat playing in the SEC. Ole Miss is headed in the right direction."
Seems recent commit, five-star wideout, Laquon Treadwell has joined Rebel receiver Donte Moncrief in efforts to lure Adeboyejo aboard.
"He [Treadwell] just told me about how great the atmosphere is and how the program is on the rise. Said he'd love to play with me," said Adeboyejo. "[Moncrief]'s been telling me how much they want me."
Adeboyejo is most looking forward to sitting down and dissecting film on how they plan on utilizing him.
"Because ultimately that is what my decision will be based on, which offense fits me best."
He did like Texas Tech's plan.
"They want to use me how A&M used Mike Evans." The big, physical receiver that knows how to use his hands and body to get open and out-size defenders. "Be their go-to guy."
Adeboyejo was able to meet Red Raiders new receivers coach Eric Morris for the first time this weekend. "I love Coach Morris, he's great," he exclaimed, noting he also got to know freshmen La'Darius Newbold and Jakeem Grant- two that also hail from the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
"They said it's the best place to balance football and school and fun. And that it's the best place for a receiver to go."
The two also mentioned how "great" it is to be "close enough to home that family and friends can watch them." (Proximity to home is also important to Adeboyejo.)
Ole Miss is the only visit left scheduled for him at this point. His in-home with Auburn Monday has been cancelled.
