Kansas LB checks out Lincoln
Henry McGrew is a monster inside linebacker from Stilwell (Kans.) Blue Valley High School. The 2014 prospect took the short trip up to see Nebraska on Saturday for their invite only junior day. "It went really well," McGrew said. "I was really impressed with what I said. They have great facilities and the coaches were were great to be around. I really enjoyed my experience." McGrew got a chance to talk to the Nebraska staff about the numbers in the 2014 class and how many linebackers they anticipate taking. McGrew said that the Nebraska staff said that were impressed with him and they were going to keep a close eye on him. "There were only a select few there, Nebraska said that they were only looking for two to three linebackers in the 2014 class and they were impressed with me and another kid. Nebraska like me as a MIKE linebacker." The Nebraska junior day didn't start until 3:00 in the afternoon on Saturday and went until about 9:00 that evening. It was only a short time to get a lot done, but McGrew said that he got a good look at everything packed in that six hour window. "We got there in the afternoon and got checked in. The first thing that we did was get weighed and measured. We got a chance to tour the facilities, meet the staff, meet the strength staff, the nutritionist and then took a ride around campus to look at it. "We had dinner with the player and then meetings with the position coaches. That was a chance to really get to talk to the position coach and spend some time with him. We got a lot done in a short time." The trip to Nebraska on Saturday was McGrew's first opportunity to see Lincoln. Because of that reason he said he wasn't very comfortable assigning a grade to the entire date. McGrew has a couple of other junior days coming up over the next month or so. "That was my first time in Lincoln and I was really impressed with the entire visit. I really don't feel comfortable saying what I would rate the visit. I go to Kansas for junior day in February and I have been invited to junior day at Missouri too."
