According to a recent Omaha World Herald report, Zaire Anderson has been cleared medically.

According to a recent Omaha World Herald report, Zaire Anderson has been cleared to practice this spring. The junior linebacker only played in three contests last year before a MRI revealed he had a torn ACL.

The report says ultimately Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini will have the final say on how much contact he sees according to defensive coordinator John Papuchis.

Anderson registered only four tackles last year, getting his first career start against Arkansas State in the Huskers' third game of the year.

A junior college transfer, Anderson stayed positive last year when he found out the news.

"I just have to try to get stronger and recover from this. I have to keep studying and try to learn the plays," he said at the time. "I have to get the system down the best I can even though I'm not playing, and come back here next year and be productive.”

If healthy, Anderson figured to factor in at the weak-side linebacker spot.
