"Nothing big," Pelini said. "He'll be back in a couple weeks full-go...He'll be back in time for part of spring. Whether we let him do that, I don't know. It gave us a little bit of a scare, but not a big deal."
The injury has been compared to what Rex Burkhead went through last year, but on a much lesser scale.
Abdullah rushed for 1137 yards on 226 carries in 2012, serving as the Huskers No. 1 running back when Burkhead was out. His unexpected numbers earned him second-team All-Big Ten.
The plan this spring was to slightly limit Abdullah's workload, giving the coaches a chance to see other running backs in the mix – especially Imani Cross.
At this point, it seems unlikely Abdullah will be back for any of the spring.
