The 6-foot-3, 167-pound four-star prospect, who is Scout's #20-ranked safety, currently holds offers from Alabama, Baylor, LSU, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech.
Interestingly enough, Elam didn't pick up his first offer until February, but has had a hot streak of which many high school prospects can only dream.
Take a look at Elam's junior season, where, in addition to defensive back, he also played quarterback for Newton:
At quarterback, Elam passed for 937 yards, eleven touchdowns, and six interceptions and also ran for 437 yards and five touchdowns. On the defensive side, he intercepted five passes and had a forced fumble.
Could a decision come soon for the athlete? It's tough to say, as Midlands recruiting analyst Gabe Brooks notes, "Elam keeps very quiet about recruiting and is not real active on social media. The extent of his recruiting-oriented activity on Twitter is simply to announce his latest offers."
Now that the spring evaluation period is in full swing, it's highly likely more programs will join the race for Elam's talents.
