As someone who's covered multiple programs, it's not uncommon for fan bases to feel a TV play-by-play guy or analyst has it out for their school.
When it comes to Nebraska, public enemy No. 1 might be ESPN's Ed Cunningham - at least in recent years.
Husker fans have felt Cunningham doesn't like their school since 2010, when in back-to-back weeks he made comments about hits he thought were illegal by Nebraska.
Now rarely when I tweet do I think about how much play it will get in the Twitter world, but I should have known when it came to a tweet about Cunningham.
On Monday's edition of ESPN's College Football Live, Cunningham had some nice comments about Bo Pelini and Nebraska.
Nebraska actually came up in conversation because of Wisconsin. The panel was debating whether the Badgers were a legit playoff title contender. When someone brought up Wisconsin's easier schedule, Cunningham quickly gave his thoughts on the Huskers.
"I have never seen Pelini more relaxed, more comfortable in his own skin and with the team he had," said Cunningham, referring to the Gator Bowl win over Georgia - a game the ESPN commentator called. "Ameer Abdullah is an elite running back and you can build around that. They have built some depth on their offensive line. In that division, I think Nebraska is one that can maybe sneak in there and get into the conversation (playoff team)...I think you could look at Nebraska in the Big Ten Championship next year."
So Ed Cunningham likes Nebraska in 2014. I wonder if Husker fans will change their opinion on him?
