John Raridon from West Des Moines (Iowa) Valley HS hopped a flight to Lincoln on Saturday morning. The 6-foot-4 and 270-pound lineman was only in Lincoln for about three to four hours before storms forced them to get back home.
"We got there Saturday around 12:30," Raridon said. "We hung out in the players' lounge with the coaches, recruits and some players. Having the players there this weekend was extremely helpful."
Raridon moved beyond the players' lounge and saw the rest of the facilities on Saturday. One thing that really stood out to Raridon while on the tour were the new dorms which he hadn't seen before.
"We toured the facilities, saw the weight room, academic center and indoor facility. I also saw the dorms and I really liked them. They are big and a little bit like an apartment."
The Huskers have been fortunate enough to host Raridon before. In fact this was his third time checking out Lincoln. There were a few things that he wanted to accomplish on the weekend and feels like he's seen what he needs to now of Nebraska.
"This is my third time visiting Nebraska. It was another opportunity to get the relationship going with the staff, see the dorms and talk to some players. There really isn't anything after the weekend that I feel I haven't seen."
Raridon is back on the road again this week to another school. Raridon is also working out this summer with a former professional lineman in Florida which he says is going well.
"I will be visiting Stanford this week," Raridon said. "I have been working out with Mike Gruttadauria who is an offensive line coach in Florida. He was the starting center for the Cowboys with Troy Aikman. After Stanford I don't have any more plans."
