Mirko Jurkovic has taken his last two unofficial visits. The 6-foot-5 and 260-pound offensive lineman from Bradenton (Flor.) IMG Academy took trips to two Big Ten schools in June.
With his last unofficial visits behind him and back at school Jurkovic is getting back into a pattern. Since he's back at school he is taking a class, but a lot of his day is spent getting ready for his senior football season.
"I got back to IMG last week. We are training and in school. We get up around 6:30, strength and conditioning from 7:00 to 9:00, lunch and we take a class. We then go out and do field work from 3:30 to 4:30 or so."
The spring and the summer has been spent preparing for a new position this fall than what he's played before. He thinks that the change in position has been going well since college coaches that came through in the spring liked him at the tackle position.
"I moved to offensive tackle when I got here. I played right guard when I went to high school in Indiana. It's a completely different technique and I worked hard to make the move. I think that I did well because most of the college coaches are evaluating me as an offensive tackle."
Jurkovic really liked his trip to Lincoln when he went to see what Nebraska had to offer. He has been staying in touch with the Nebraska staff consistently since he returned from his visit.
"Nebraska likes me as an offensive tackle," Jurkovic said. "That can always change when you get to college. You can start out as an offensive tackle and move down. I talk to Coach John Garrison once a week and over social media probably once a day."
Jurkovic will be making his decision tomorrow deciding between three teams. "I am actually committing tomorrow. I am down to Nebraska, Ohio State and Florida. I will be announcing at 2:00 (E.S.T.)"
