Huskers release 2014-15 schedule

Nebraska head coach Tim Miles talked about the Huskers released schedule on Huskers Sports Nightly.

LINCOLN, Neb. - Nebraska and the Big Ten announced the Huskers upcoming men’s basketball schedule for the 2014-15 season on Thursday.

The Huskers non-conference schedule is highlighted by games against Rhode Island (November 22nd), Florida State (December 1st), Creighton (December 7th), Cincinnati (December 13) and possibly Wichita State in the Diamond Head Classic held in Hawaai.

“It was difficult to get the home games, that was for sure. The guys who owed us home games owe us home games, but the guys who didn’t have to come here didn’t want to come here really bad,” said head coach Tim Miles on Huskers Sports Nightly Thursday night. “I really like our schedule; I think it’s an even schedule.”

The Huskers conference portion of the schedule this year features only one matchup with traditional powers Michigan State (January 24th) and Ohio State (February 26th).

“We are shooting for a very finish in the league. We want to make a run at this thing,” said Miles, who returns all five starters from a NCAA tournament team a year ago. “We got hot last year, but I don’t think we were a very good team last year. If you look at eight of the major 11 stat categories, we were in the bottom third at least. So we have a long way to go to be a good team and I hope we are a better team.”
