Walton to miss at least fall

Nebraska incoming linebacker Jaevon Walton will not be with the team this fall.

LINCOLN, Neb. - Jaevon Walton, a talented linebacker who signed with Nebraska this fall out of Edna Karr high school in Louisiana, will miss the 2013 season according to head coach Bo Pelini.

"We have gone through some things with Jaevon," said Pelini. "Things he’s working through and if he follows through with those things, which I anticipate he will, there is a good chance you will see him in January."

Pelini did not name specific things, but Walton was on campus for a short time this summer.

A former three-star prospect and the nation's No. 51 middle linebacker in the 2014 class, Walton was the Huskers only linebacker taken in last year's recruiting class.

He picked the Huskers over offers from Southern Mississippi and Missouri among others.
