The full pads are on, newcomers getting good look

Norvell has lots to work with this fall

The full pads went on, the scrimmaging took place and the coaches can finally get a feel for when the players are going at it full steam. Steam might be a good word to use as the Huskers are practicing amidst heat indexes over 100 degrees. Weather doesn't stop progress, though, and that's what they hope to make every day until the home opener arrives. Quarterback coach Jay Norvell talked about that and the progress that has thus far been made. Enjoy this edition of sound bytes.
