Ricky Henry was the first recruit to commit to the Huskers this year. Shortly after him was D.J. Jones from Omaha (Nebr.) Central. The two squared off on Friday night against eachother.
"It was a fun game, it was good," Henry said. "Going up against D.J. Jones was fun."
"I played defensive tackle and moved me around a little bit. I wasn't head up on him all night. They move me around. He's pretty big and a good player. I feel like I played pretty good against him though."
Henry was in Lincoln this weekend like Jones to check out the game against Pitt. "I was at the spring game, but this was the first game for me this fall. I thought it was a fun experience. The tunnel walk is amazing. It's nuts; the atmosphere down there."
Henry wasn't just familiar with future teammate Jones, but saw the quarterback of the future there as well. "I saw Josh Freeman was there. I met him at the spring game and talked to him a little bit there."
Henry and his team are undefeated so far with a big game this weekend approaching. "We're 3-0 and rated third or fourth. We play number one Millard North this weekend. We beat them last year. Could be a fun game."
Look for Henry to be an active part of Nebraska's effort to land another great recruiting class. Being so close to Lincoln, Henry is planning on being in Lincoln multiple times this fall. "I will be down there for the Iowa State game next weekend."
