Nebraska gets a high mark

Jordan returns home from Nerbaska

The first official visit for Dion Jordan took him north to Nebraska. Jordan had heard the stories about the Nebraska crowds. There is a Sea of Red and they also know the visitors' names. Sometimes the visitors are asked for their autographs or pose for a picture or two. Jordan said that he was half-way prepared to see Nebraska, but was blown away by the reality of the visit.

The Huskers are in pursuit for a top-flight tight end and have their eyes on Dion Jordan from Chandler (Ariz.). The 6-foot-6 and 210-pound Jordan said that the visit went really well.

"It was good," Jordan said. "I had a lot of fun. I really liked the fans. It was also a big-time game atmosphere."

It was a big-time game atmosphere, but the Huskers fell at home to the top-rated team in the nation. Jordan noticed the dedication of the Husker fans while their team struggled.

"One thing that I liked, was that they stuck right by their team. Even when they got down the stadium was still packed."

Another thing about the fans was that they knew who Jordan and the other visitors were. "The fans also knew who we were. They were screaming our names and taking our pictures."

Jordan had heard about the fans at Nebraska knowing the recruits, but nothing prepared him for the reality of it. "I knew about some of that stuff, I didn't think that it would be quite that big. It was real cool."

All of the visitors seemed to get along well according to other reports. Jordan mentioned that he and a lot of the other visitors hung out all weekend.

"It was good. I spent time with Josh Williams, Will Compton, Bryce Givens, Blaine Gabbert, Devonte Christopher, of course Marc Anthony and there were a couple more of us."

The visitor gets a reasonably high mark from Jordan with one of the biggest downfalls being that more things to do, at his age, aren't closer to Lincoln and the campus.

"I would say it was about an "8" or a "9" on a scale of one to ten. The only thing that I didn't like about it was after the game everything to do was in Omaha and that was an hour away."

Jordan is back on the road next week, but doesn't have any other official visits set after that. "Next week I am supposed to be going to Colorado. After that, I don't have anything else set up."

After the visit to Nebraska, Jordan says that Nebraska is towards the top of his list. "They are up there. I didn't expect to see anything like that. There are somewhere in the top two to three."
