You have to feel for P.J. Smith.
Amidst the flurry of phone calls he was trying to make, informing college coaches around the country that he had made his choice, media outlets from probably as many places, were calling him to get the same information.
"I'm talking to the coaches right now, but I will get back to you after I get done," said Smith, who said he wasn't going to tell anyone else until these phone calls were done.
Nola.com, a media outlet out of New Orleans, reported that Smith, along with fellow Louisianan, Jerico Nelson, had indeed made their choice, and Smith said he was a Husker.
"I'm going to Nebraska, the Cornhuskers," Smith, told Mike Strom from Nola.com. "I had a good time up there on my visit. It felt like I was at home.
"They have a wonderful coaching staff. The people up there are wonderful and really support the program. I really liked Coach Bo. I know he's going to turn the program around in a hurry. The scheme up there really fits me. It was a good decision for me."
Smith becomes to the 25th commitment of the class of 2008, and will add himself to Courtney Osborne and Josh Levorson, all projected to compete at safety for the big red.
Big Red Report will bring you more on this story, along with quotes from Smith himself, talking about his decision and what he hopes to accomplish in the future.
By the way, Jerico Nelson switched his commitment from Purdue and will now be going to Arkansas, this according to the article posted on NOLA.com.
