A couple of the topics were junior linebacker Phillip Dillard and recruiting.
Husker Head Coach Bo Pelini said that Dillard is at 85 percent right now, which is the same estimate he made as to his health in respect to his ankle last week - an injury he's been dealing with for almost a month now. Dillard is practicing, and Bo said that he expects him to be back at full speed within perhaps a week.
As to recruiting, Bo, along with Offensive Coordinator Shawn Watson and Defensive Line Coach Carl Pelini were the only coaches at practice today. Bo said that they should have all the coaches available for the Thursday practice, minus maybe one coach, who could still be on the road recruiting.
Another aspect of recruiting or the effect on recruiting are the various rumors which are circulating about Nebraska assistants such as Wide Receivers Coach Ted Gilmore and Offensive Coordinator Shawn Watson, being candidates for other positions.
Gilmore reportedly interviewed for the Head Coaching position at Wyoming, his Alma Mater, and Watson has been reported to have talked with New Mexico about their coaching position.
Both of those positions have since been filled by other coaches.
While Pelini wouldn't comment on the situations specifically, he voiced support for his staff and their candidacy for any of those jobs, and he said that he didn't worry about how this talk might impact recruiting.
Also coming out of practice was the fact that the allotment of 12,700 tickets to Nebraska for January 1 Gator Bowl, is now down to approximately 3,000.
If you wish to purchase tickets for the game, you better do it quickly. You can go to this link for more information on availability for the Nebraska/Clemson game.
