. In Saturday's win at Missouri, the National Player-of-the-Year candidate produced her Big 12-season-best with 28 points while adding 12 rebounds. She hit 11-of-15 shots from the field and 6-of-7 free throws, while dishing out two assists. On the defensive end, she pulled down nine defensive rebounds, blocked two shots, took two charges and came up with one steal, personally accounting for 14 stops for the Huskers, who tied the school single-season record with their 23rd win to improve to 23-0 on the year.
Griffin, who produced her Big 12-leading 13th double-double of the season, also became just the eighth Husker in history to produce 1,800 career points. Earlier in the week, Griffin produced 17 points and 13 rebounds in Nebraska's win at Kansas. She pulled a career-high nine offensive rebounds against the Jayhawks.
The award was Griffin's sixth Big 12 Player-of-the-Week honor of her career, joining one as a junior in February of 2008, and two as a sophomore in 2007. She also claimed two Big 12 Rookie-of-the-Week honors as a freshman in 2006.
KU's Carolyn Davis was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week, to join Griffin and Roberson among the league's award winners.
Griffin will lead No. 3 Nebraska against No. 13 Iowa State at the Devaney Center in Lincoln on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 7:05 p.m. The Cyclones come to town with a 19-4 overall record, including a 7-3 Big 12 mark.
