There was a big surprise for Husker fans in the middle of last week when it was discovered by Scott Eklund and JCFootball.com that a trio of Fort Scott (Kans.) players, including one committed to LSU, were officially visiting Nebraska this past weekend. A real relationship seems to be budding between Nebraska and Fort Scott, but there won’t be a lot of comments on the visits for a while.   Full Story

What a weekend to take a visit to Lincoln. It was senior night for Nebraska as well as a chance for Nebraska to win the North Division outright and play for the Big 12 crown. One of the two commitments in Lincoln this weekend was Tyler Gabbert from Baldwin (Mo.) Parkway West. Detchauz Wray says it’s down to two schools – Colorado State and Nebraska. Apparently, those two are the lone ones that are still showing interest. “Arizona pretty much stopped recruiting me,” Wray said. Although Wray is ranked by Scout.com as a receiver, he also plays quarterback. “But I’m not really sure what position they want me for anymore. That’s why when he tells you that even he thought the fans were loud last night in the win against Kansas State that it was a special game environment. Safety Corey Cooper has been committed to Illinois since the spring. That commitment, however, is now at only 50-percent. “I’m still committed, but I’m looking around,” Cooper said. “At the moment (of his commitment) that was my only offer and it’s my home town team and I just got caught up in the opportunity. Of course, Welter has ties back to Nebraska, but he’s been to just about every Cal game this year and is getting other PAC 10 attention.
