| As a 2008 junior at Culver City (Calif.), Victor Burnett had 182 tackles, 17 for loss, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Was named First Team All-Ocean League for the second year and was First Team All-CIF. Set the school single-season tackle record. He says he can bench 320-pounds, squat 545 and has a 35-inch vertical jump.
Partial senior (8-1, missed three games with right calf pull) stats: 86 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, six sacks, two fumbles caused, one fumble recovered and one interception for a touchdown.
A Junior Academic Scholar Award winner, Burnett plans on majoring in psychology and reports a 3.0 core GPA and received a 950 SAT score after scoring 910 the first time.
Burnett: “I come downhill well. I move well sideline-to-sideline and my motor never stops running. I’m also a very smart linebacker.
“I want to improve my man-to-man coverage. And breaking down at the point of attack. I also want to run through people even harder.”
