South: Top Five Defensive Ends
South: Top Five Defensive Ends 1. Robert Nkemdiche Hometown: Loganville, Ga. High School: Grayson Size: 6-4/270 Recruiting: Alabama has been the school many looked at as the team to beat for a while, but Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, and others are still in there as well. Scouting Report: Running Back skill set in a 6-4/270 pounds frame, Nkemdiche has uncommon strength and power to go along with feet quick enough that he could be a viable RB prospect. He's strong enough to manhandle an offensive tackle and quick enough to run by him and chase down a ball carrier from behind. He has good flexibility allowing him to get low and change direction like he was on rails. Physically impressive with dominating production. 2. Joey Bosa Hometown: Fort Lauderdale, Fla. High School: St. Thomas Aquinas Size: 6-5/262 Recruiting: Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, and Wisconsin are Bosa's top five. Scouting Report: There is not much you don't like when watching Bosa in action. He is a big defensive lineman that plays with good pad level and he consistently fires off the ball. He gets penetration and helps collapse the pocket on the high school level. In college, he will be a quick interior lineman or a strong and physical end. He has a lot of room to grow still into his frame and he is only going to get better. 3. Isaac Rochell Hometown: McDonough, Ga. High School: Eagles Landing Christian Academy Size: 6-4/257 Recruiting: No cuts have been made yet, but he always has made it clear he would like to play close to home. It looks like he will likely choose a school in the South when it comes that time. Scouting Report: Rochell is an easy offer guy because of his size, athleticism, and versatility. He is a long defensive end, but he has the ability to play offensive tackle as well. He is an athlete, he is still growing into his frame, and played standing up and with his hand down as a junior. His best football is still ahead of him as he adds strength, plays with a better pad level, and continues to mature physically. 4. Tim Williams Hometown: Baton Rouge, La. High School: LSU Laboratory School Size: 6-4/230 Recruiting: No favorites yet for Williams, but he lives in Baton Rouge. LSU is a real player of course – He has offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida State, LSU, USC, and others. Scouting Report: Williams is an athletic guy who plays with his hand down, but has the ability to play out of the two-point stance. He attacks the ball well, he plays with speed, and he really closes on the ball well. He comes off the ball low, he has shown the ability to get off blocks, and to play the run. He is best when attacking the quarterback. He can still improve his strength, his moves off the ball, and his technique. 5. Alvonte Bell Hometown: Miramar, Fla.. High School: Everglades Size: 6-5/220 Recruiting: The spring could be big for Bell. He has a lot of schools showing interest and his coach says schools like Clemson, Illinois, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, SMU, and West Virginia have offered. Scouting Report: Bell is a raw athlete with speed, length, and quickness that attracts attention his way. He has long arms to get into passing lanes, he can move well in space, and he really pursues the ball well. His biggest area of improvement is in the weight category. He is still very lean and he needs to add good weight and get stronger. He relies a lot of speed and athleticism too, so improving technically is needed also. The Next Five: Carl Lawson (Roswell, Ga.), Demarcus Walker (Jacksonville, Fla.), Naim Mustafaa (Alpharetta, Ga.), Frank Herron (Memphis, Tn.), and Jason Carr (Memphis, Tn. – Tennessee Commitment). Chad Simmons is currently a National Recruiting Analyst for FOX Sports/Scout.
