'15 prospect to visit Nebraska
Adam McLean is a 2015 prospect from Gaithersburg (Md.) Quince Orchard that is really on the rise. The standout defensive lineman says that things really can't get a lot better than they are right now. "It's going really good," McLean said. "I couldn't be anymore happy about this time. Football, grades, recruiting and my training are all great right now." McLean had a monster sophomore year for Quince Orchard and he really wants to take another step when it comes to his on the field production. McLean says that he's putting in the work and is already seeing the results. "I really just wanted to get bigger and stronger, but that is probably what every athlete wants to do. I really wanted to get better at my technique and my explosiveness off the ball. "I had 11 sacks last year, my sophomore year, and I want to get to 15 sacks. I think that I am capable of doing it. I just have to put in the work to get me there. I have seen the results already." The spring is coming to an end and the McLean made a couple of visits to the in-state school. In June he says that he is planning on making a trip to check out a Big Ten school. "I took two trips to Maryland. They were great. I got to hang out with the guys there and spoke with the coaches. "I am going to Nebraska on June 14th for Big Red Weekend which is on the 15th. I can't wait to go there and just have fun." Nebraska is a school that McLean is feeling a tremendous connection with. He is comfortable with his recruiting coach and he loves the approach that the Huskers are taking with him. "Coach John Papuchis is recruiting me and he is awesome. Every time I talk to him it's like I have known him for years. "He's told me about Nebraska and that he loves it there. He told me that I am a top prospect for them for 2015." The Huskers have dipped into Quince Orchard a couple of times in recent years. McLean knows both of the former Quince Orchard players and has spoken with one about being teammates again at some point down the road. "I know both Jason Ankrah who is already at Nebraska and Marcus Newby who just signed with Nebraska. Marcus and I are really good friends and we have talked about playing college ball together. I am pretty excited for the visit to Nebraska." Bryan Munson has worked with Big Red Report for 10 years covering recruiting and football and has covered Nebraska recruiting for 12 years.
