Pierson-El looking forward to official visit
The season for Alexandria (Va.) West Potomac and Demornay Pierson-El is unfortunately over. Pierson-El and his team made an early exit in the Virginia state playoffs with Pierson-El under center rather than catching passes. "My season is over," Pierson-El said. "We lost on Saturday in the first round of the playoffs. I thought that I had a good season personally. That was different for me this year. "I really didn't pay attention to my stats since I changed positions and wasn't playing the position that I will play in college. I played quarterback for my team this year." West Potomac head coach Jeremiah Davis has said in previous interviews that he felt Pierson-El could also play defense. The three-star prospect played some defense this season, but really just wanted to play the season with his friends around him knowing it will all be different next year. "I did play some defense. My coach would put me in if we needed to shut down a guy or make sure that we stopped a play. I really just went out this season and had fun. I wanted to have fun on the field personally because it's my senior year and playing with my teammates." Pierson-El will take his only official visit this weekend when he travels to Nebraska to see the Huskers play Michigan State. The No. 88-ranked wide receiver according to Scout.com wants to see the game and also get a feel of the day in the life of a Nebraska student as well. "I will be in Lincoln this weekend for my official visit," Pierson-El said. "This will be my second trip there because I was there for Big Red Weekend. I am really looking forward to seeing the game while I am there. "I am also looking forward to getting a feel of what it's like to be an athlete there on any given day. I am looking forward to talking to some of the academic people, looking into some classes and just feeling like part of the program." Discuss this topic on our premium message board: CLICK HERE.
