After being named first-team All-Big Ten by both the coaches and the conference media, Nebraska defensive end Randy Gregory has added another honor to his resume today - CollegeFootballNews.com's Sophomore Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Here is what they had to say about Gregory:

Gregory is still raw, which is reason for unbridled enthusiasm about his future. An academic non-qualifier at Purdue and transfer from Arizona Western Community College, he's debuted in Lincoln with 61 stops, 17 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks and 17 quarterback hurries. Once Gregory sharpens his technique, his enormous wingspan and explosive first step could propel him to greatness and national honors in 2014.
