Nebraska running back Ameer Abdullah has been named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts Florida Atlantic on Saturday.

The senior ran for a career-high 232 yards on 21 carries in the Huskers' 55-7 win. The Alabama native is now sixth all-time on the Nebraska career rushing charts.

“He's special. I've been saying it. He's really good," said head coach Bo Pelini on Saturday. "He can run inside, run outside. He's a special player. He's a really good back. I think we showed that we have some other guys that can tote the ball that do a pretty good job, too. I thought our guys played well up front and were able to let that happen. I thought we executed pretty well on the running game."

Despite racking up a career-high, Abdullah will enter week two No. 5 in the nation in rushing yards, 43 yards behind South Florida freshman Marlon Mack, who rushed 24 times for 275 against Western Carolina on Saturday.

This is the second time Abdullah has been named POW.
